As a BUYERS' BROKER, I specialize in working with FIRST TIME HOMEBUYERS, INVESTOR CLIENTS and RESIDENTIAL RELOCATION PROSPECTS. I do not believe in "selling" properties ... the right property sells itself! My philosophy is to educate and counsel my clients so they can make informed decisions for themselves, then help them realize those choices by coordinating all aspects of the process to ensure a successful transaction. Repeat business and referrals from satisfied clients constitute the bulk of my business.
I have over 40 years experience in Residential Real Estate, as a Sales Associate, Broker and Broker Manager. Currently licensed in Florida, I also maintain an Active Broker's License in North Carolina and Referral Status in the US Virgin Islands, where I formerly managed one of the leading Real Estate Firms.
My degree is in Education, with a major in English at the University of NC, Chapel Hill. I did my graduate work in Guidance and Counseling at NCSU, then moved to St Croix, USVI, where I completed two advanced professional designations: Graduate of the Realtors®' Institute (GRI) and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS). I was working on my CRB when Hurricanes Hugo and Marilyn intervened.
After moving to Bradenton, I returned to school for an Advanced Certification in Paralegal Studies and graduated from State College of Florida with top honors.
Currently, my Professional Affiliations include the following: Realtors® Association of Sarasota Manatee (RASM), Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) and the Council of Residential Specialists (CRS). I am also a member of the Florida Regional Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and, as such, have access to all Florida MLS systems as well.
I am a strong advocate of community service, believing that "what goes 'round, comes 'round". Consequently, I am involved with Habitat for Humanity and have participated in a "Blitz Build" as well as served six years on the Board. I am also a former Puppy Raiser and Breeder Host for SE Guide Dogs.
I currently live with 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Carson & Sasha, whom I adopted & certified for Therapy Work. We do children's reading programs called READ2DOGS (see our FaceBook site) at 4 local libraries monthly. We are also working as a Guardian Ad Litem team, advocating for displaced kids.
Other personal interests and affiliations include sailing, hiking, camping, wilderness exploration and preservation, the arts, reading, dancing and travel.
My practice covers both Commercial and Residential Real Estate with a strong focus on the residential side. I do list but I prefer working with Buyers and find helping First Time HomeBuyers particularly rewarding. I am very detail-oriented and will work conscientiously to achieve your goals.
