I began my real estate career in 1989. Working through-out the years I have had the opportunity to gain a great deal of experience in the marketing as well as selling of residential, multi family, commercial, acreage as well as raw land, housing developments and waterfront properties. I am quite experienced and have been highly productive increasing the number of properties in which I have brokered every year over the past 21 years.
Due to working with great people and hard work, I have been able to receive numerous honors which include Coldwell Bankers Sterling and Diamond Awards, and Coldwell Banker’s Presidents Circle award in 1999-2010 for being one of the top producers in North America. In 2004 I was honored as one of the top three agents in our area. I am licensed as an Managing Broker, a higher licensing designation set forth in Washington State, as well as achieving a Certified Residential Specialist designation which is held by only 5% of Real estate agents and Brokers nation wide. In 2007 I earned the coveted CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation, considered a doctorate education in Commercial real estate.
I strive to stay well informed with education in numerous topics such as Real Estate Law, Real Estate Brokerage and Management, Commercial Real Estate Brokerage, tax deferred exchanges, as well as numerous investment real estate courses and no fewer than 50 additional educational subjects throughout my career. I believe what this does for my clients is give them very sound advice about their properties or properties in which they are considering purchasing. I practice what I preach and have invested in a significant real estate portfolio in Whatcom County.
I work very hard and play hard as well enjoying the Northwest to its fullest with snow skiing, boating in the gorgeous San Juan’s, running, mountain biking, hiking, Youth sports coaching, competitive sailing and above all time spent with my three children and my wife Lisa. About Diskin
I began my real estate career in the Spring of 2010. Although I may be new my experience in real estate goes well beyond that. At 20 years old I am the among the youngest real estate brokers in the history of Whatcom County real estate. I do not consider my age to be a defect but yet a blessing. Because of my age and interest real estate I am very hungry to continue my education and will be the most energized broker in the business because of my enthusiasm and will work harder to prove myself.
I graduated from Ferndale High School with a high cumulative GPA. I was voted by teachers and Ferndale School Board members as the sole Outstanding Business Student in my class as well as being voted the most likely to succeed. My senior project was unlike anything a student has done before which was to Restore and “flip” a home. I showed my eagerness and desire for learning in the project and took full advantage of this time to gain knowledge from my dad Monte Young who has been in the Real Estate business for 20+ years. I proved that I can work through anything during this project. I was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 16 and had to go through chemo therapy until the end of my senior year. Being able to complete all my work both on the house and in the classroom proved to others as well as my self that no matter what is in front of me I will continue forward.
Some other things I enjoy other than learning and reading about real estate is sports. I love basketball, football and baseball as well as tennis. I played tennis throughout high school and went to 3A districts two years in a row. I enjoy working out at Bellingham fitness, going swimming and being with friends and family. I believe you will see how hard I work right off the bat for all my clients and that I have my dad’s years of experience on my side.
