Communities: Chatham, Effingham and Bryan Counties

Lavern Martin is a native of Savannah. She is a graduate of Tompkins High, Savannah GA, Kerr Business College in Augusta, Georgia. Savannah Technical Institute; Business Administration, Executive Secretarial Science. Draughon's College; Marketing & Management. Lavern has been involved in Real Estate from an early age. At age 12 she helped her neighbors tear down their old home to build a new one. She loved it! That's when it all began. She became actively involved with her neighborhood Community Organization.

At age 20, she was offered an opportunity to participate in an 18 month on-the-job (OJT) training program with Savannah Landmark Rehabilitation Project. Their mission was to restore many of the deteriorating Victorian homes in Savannah's Historical District in conjunction with President Jimmy Carter and First Lady, Roselyn Carter who were catalysts for the development of Habitat For Humanity. A female wearing a tool belt, hardhat and work boots was not common at that time. Breaking ground for women in non-traditional jobs was one of the most rewarding experiences of her young life. She eventually purchased, rehabbed and sold several homes over the years.

Lavern's business career began at a weekly newspaper company called "I-Want-A" in Augusta, Georgia while attending college. After moving back to Savannah, she began as Administrative Assistant to the Recorders Court Judges at that time. She relocated to Atlanta in 1995 and worked as Executive Assistant at two Real Estate firms before receiving her Real Estate License in 1996. Her quest for knowledge of the industry led her to join Georgia Real Estate Investors Association. A friend made her an offer she could not refuse. She accepted a position as Executive Assistant to the President at Herzing College in Atlanta. She worked there for 3 years before learning of the appointment of a new president. She felt her job was done. It was difficult to adequately assist her Real Estate clients on a part time basis so she began working in Real Estate full time and has not looked back.

Further opportunity has allowed Lavern to represent many families relocating to Georgia from U.S. cities and abroad as a Real Estate Agent with (NACA) The Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America in Atlanta Georgia. Lavern has completed many Ocwen REO sales to include cash for keys negotiation, rekey, trash-out, pre-sale rehab/repairs and landscape services. She is a Mobile Notary. She has extensive experience providing hundreds of quality Field Inspections, BPO's to several companies. A 27 year Realtor® with 23 years REO experience and more than 30 years in the real estate industry.

Lavern's knowledge of Business matters and Real Estate is a plus for anyone who works with her. Her ability to listen to her clients, her positive results, energy and her obviously caring spirit inspires her clients to gladly call on her again and again.
