Our backgrounds prior to real estate were in the financial industry, both in operations and marketing/sales. We are both very active in the community and with our local Realtor® Association. Karen is a Past President of the Punta Gorda-Port Charlotte-North Port Realtors® Association and Past President of the local Women's Council of Realtors® chapter. She has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Realtor® Association since 2007 and has served on the Board of Directors for the Florida Realtors® Association and was honored by the local Realtor® Association with the REALTOR® of the Year award this past year. We are members of TEAM Punta Gorda, a grass roots organization formed to work with the city and county to revitalize our community after Hurricane Charley in 2004. For fun, we are members of the PGIslanders Boat Club and St Andrews South Golf Club. Ken is a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and we both volunteer in other community organizations including the Peace River Botanical and Sculpture Gardens and the local and county Chambers of Commerce. Karen is also a graduate of the Leadership Charlotte program.
We moved to the area in 2001 from Minneapolis MN and still have many friends and family in that area. Ken grew up in Miami and Karen in the Chicago area. We are animal lovers and share our home with our shelter dogs, Molly and Kassie. We also have a daughter living in Minneapolis with her husband and their 2 small children. We love boating, spending time with family and friends, and working with people!
